Eastwood is not a formal cemetery, it is a natural woodland and the following Terms and Conditions have been developed to protect the forest.
Cut flowers and wreaths placed on graves at time of burial are removed after a suitable time to preserve the natural look of the wood.
- To preserve the natural look of the wood we do not mark graves with headstones or crosses.
- You may ask for a tree to be planted on the grave and wild flowers may be planted randomly at the grave but please bear in mind that there is wildlife, including deer and rabbits, in the wood and some plants and flowers will not survive.
- Trees if planted may ‘fail’. Those will be replaced but not necessarily with the same species.
- Each grave is marked with a small post and a number which is recorded. Owners will be sent details of where their pet’s grave is situated.
- Pets will be buried in biodegradable fabric. Pets own bedding can be used if suitable. Biodegradable coffins can be supplied if requested.
- You are welcome to visit Eastwood at any time after your pet’s burial and enjoy a walk through the rest of the wood. For safety reasons we request that clients visit during daylight hours.
